Leila of Cairo (Egypt/USA)-Leila is currently one of Egypt’s hottest belly dance stars. She performs nightly in some of the best five star nightclubs and cruise boats in Cairo. She is also one of the most popular and requested dancers for weddings and parties. Leila’s dances often on Arabic Television as well, performing with many Middle Eastern superstar singers in video clips and live televised stage shows. This has made her a recognizable personality throughout the Middle East. Leila also works with some of the country’s top actors and directors in TV commercials, TV sit-coms, and on the silver screen. She teaches seminars in Egypt for Nile Group and workshops around the world. |

Mounir Abdle Aziz (Egypt)-Mouneer started playing tabla with Hala Safy and eventually became one of the premier studio drummers in Cairo. He has played duff, tabla, dahoola, bongos and trap on 8 albums for dancers, in addition to movie sound tracks and original compositions for singers throughout the Middle East. He is also a composer and his song and tableauxs are in demand with singers and dancers alike.

Rabey Abou Taleb (Egypt)- Rabey began his career with the Reda Troup. A talent for choreography and tableaux design emerged and Rabey was hired by Hindaya, Sohair Zaky, Azza Sherif, Fifi Abdo and many of the famous dancers of the day to create tableaux. He was noticed by the aging Iraham Akef and in 1994 Rabey became the legendary teacher’s assistant. As Ibraham Akef’s assistant he learned the movement and style of the great dancers of the past (Samia Gamal, Niama Akef, Tahia Carioka). Rabey continues to train dancers, both Egyptian and foreign, and to run the studio of the late Ibrahim Akef. |

Safaa Farid (Egypt)-Safaa Farid has been singing with dancers since the early 1980’s. He has sung with every famous Egyptian dancer since this time. He has provided his vocal talent and/or acted as creative director for 15 international dance albums and has performed in Europe, England and Australia. He is currently the orchestra leader for Feret Negum and manager for many successful dancers in Egypt (most notably, his wife, Leila).

Sahra Saeeda (USA/Egypt)-Sahra has performed and taught Egyptian style Orientale and Folkloric dance on five continents. Originally from the Los Angeles, California area, Sahra lived, danced, and researched in Egypt from 1989 to 1995. The "Sahra Show" has performed over 1600 shows in Cairo, Egypt alone. This show's ensemble included Sahra, Egyptian musicians, singers, folkloric dancers and authentic Saidi musicians. She has since been teaching and performing Egyptian and Folkloric dance around the world. Sahra has academic degrees in both Dance & Cultural Anthropology along with a MA in Dance Ethnology from UCLA. |

Sayed Amar (Egypt)-Sayed started tanoura at age 14 by performing at street weddings. In his early 20’s he moved to tourist venues beginning with the Nile Maxim Boat and subsequently, the Nile Crystal, Hilton Ramses and the Nile Phaoron. In 2005 he was part of Kay Taylor’s “Farha Tour” of England. He returned to England for the second “Farha Tour” in 2007 and has since performed in Spain, India, Lebanon and Australia. His ease, grace, and generosity of spirit have made him an audience favorite. |

Sayed Lacky (Egypt)-Sayed Lacky began playing sagat with Zizi Moustafa and was the sound behind some of Sahar Hamdi’s most famous tablaeux. He has also played for hundreds of zars in and around Cairo. He is a master sagat player with a great sense of humor. |

Shoo Shoo Amin (Egypt)-Sho Sho Amin always wanted to be a dancer. She finally convinced her family and started dancing at the young age of 19. Still new to the stage, she was invited by Hassan Abu Saood (regarded as the best accordion player in the world and composer of Shik Shak Shok) to perform in Japan with his orchestra. After 1 year in Japan, Sho Sho returned to Cairo to be the featured dancer at the Auberge nightclub. In the early 1980’s Sho Sho joined dance stars such as Mona Saeed and Sahar Hamdi in London and performed for 4 years as the star of the Empress club. Then she traveled back and forth from London to Cairo and for engagements in Switzerland and Germany. She retired in 1994.

Yasmin (Paris/USA/Egypt)-American dancer, Yasmin started her dance career in Paris performing nightly in two of the citiy’s most famous clubs alongside superstar singers (Ahmed Adawia, Sabah, Walid Toufiq) from the Middle East. After several years in France she moved to London to work in Omar Khayyam, the club of Mona Said, with master percussionist, Khamis Henkesh. This sparked the desire to go to Egypt and she moved to Cairo after a year where she appeared for two years in The Auberge and the Holiday Inn. Upon returning to the USA she began teaching and working with the Henkesh brothers to release traditional Egyptian music on CD. Her albums consistently receive rave reviews and high praise for the meticulously researched sleeve booklets. She has produced an album of Zar music and done extensive research about dance in Egypt.

Yousrey Hefny (Egypt)-One of Cairo’s best tabla players. Youssry was Lucy’s tabla player for 18 years. He has also played for Fifi Abdo, Azza Sherif, Randa Kamel and currently for Leila of Cairo. He has worked closely with Raqia Hassan at Ahlan Wa Sahlan and for Feret el Negum for the last four years, at the Nile Group in Egypt and abroad. He is loved for his feeling of the music and perfect interpretation of a dancer’s moves. |
